Small Arms Survey 2012: Moving Targets — all chapters now available for download

All chapters from the Small Arms Survey 2012: Moving Targets are now available for download from the Small Arms Survey website. The 2012 edition, which was launched at the United Nations in New York in August 2012, explores changes in relation to armed violence and small arms proliferation.

The chapters cover:

  • firearms and deaths in Latin America and the Caribbean
  • state policy and drug violence
  • non-lethal firearm violence
  • small arms in Kazakhstan
  • the emerging security order in Somaliland
  • Somali piracy
  • the UN Meeting of Governmental Experts
  • authorized transfers of small arms parts and accessories
  • trends in transparency of reporting on international small arms transfers
  • illicit arms in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Somalia

These chapters are being made available ahead of the release of the next volume in the series. Small Arms Survey 2013: Everyday Dangers, which explores the many faces of armed violence outside the context of armed conflict, will be launched on 2 July 2013 at the United Nations Palais des Nations in Geneva.
