Small Arms Survey at Geneva Peace Week 2019

GENEVA PEACE WEEK EVENT

5 November 2019, 14.00h-15.30h

The role of women in controlling small arms and light weapons in North Africa and the Sahel–Sahara region is vital. By bringing together women who have worked on small arms control for a regional organization, a national institution, and a local initiative to share their experiences, the Small Arms Survey—supported by Canada and the Netherlands—aims to reflect on successes and challenges, all the while drawing lessons to inform future policies.

Co-organized through its Gender Lens for Arms Control Support and Sustainability (GLASS) and Security Assessment in North Africa (SANA) projects, the Small Arms Survey cordially invites you to join us on 5 November 2019 from 14.00h to 15.30h in Auditorium A1B, Maison de la Paix, for the Geneva Peace Week event ‘Gendering Small Arms Control for Peace: North Africa and Sahel Perspectives’.

Geneva Peace Week is a collective action initiative facilitated by the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation. By synchronizing meetings and events on different topics related to the promotion of peace during one week, Geneva Peace Week maximizes synergies between organizations in Geneva, focused on the cross-cutting nature of peace.
