Photojournalist Teun Voeten was born in the Netherlands and studied cultural anthropology and philosophy before becoming interested in photography and learning his trade by working as a photo assistant. His work focuses on people in extremely difficult circumstances, and has taken him in recent years to Afghanistan, Bosnia, Colombia, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, and Liberia.
