Conventional Ammunition in Surplus: A Reference Guide is designed to be a user-friendly, one-stop reference for all stakeholders involved in the process, from governments and militaries to international organizations and advocacy groups. It presents the fundamental issues relevant to conventional ammunition in surplus in concise sections. More than 20 distinct chapters address issues ranging from the basics of stockpile management—including surveillance of stocks, accounting procedures, and surplus destruction—to issues of special concern, such as the threat of illicit diversion, the dangers posed by liquid propellants, and man-portable air defence systems (MANPADS).
