Daithi O'Flynn

Weapons and Ammunition Management Specialist

Daithi O’Flynn is a weapons and ammunition management specialist working primarily with the EU-LAS project. Daithi is responsible for the design and delivery of training in the area of stockpile management and security for both in-person and hybrid formats. For all training the emphasis is on sustainable impact.

Prior to working with the Survey, he served as an ordnance mechanical engineer with the Irish Defence Forces. During his 13 years of service, Daithi was an EOD operator in conventional munitions, improvised explosive device, and CBRNe device disposal. He filled operational and instructional appointments as well as a strategic appointment in national emergency planning. Daithi served with UNDOF in Golan Heights as an IEDD and C-IED officer.

Daithi holds a qualification in data analytics in addition to several qualifications in mechanical engineering. He has a proven track record in both technical training delivery and the application of risk management principles to all aspects of life cycle management of both weapons and their associated ammunition.
