
Darine Atwa
Darine Atwa joined the Small Arms Survey in March 2022 as the project officer of the Security Assessment in North Africa (SANA) project. She undertakes research tasks related to North Africa, Sahel-Sahara, and the Middle East, reviews the project’s English and Arabic publications and supervises the process of translation and designing of Arabic-language publications, and she supports project coordination.
Prior to joining the Survey, she worked at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as a Private Sector Partnerships Unit Support Officer, and before that she worked with several other organizations as the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC), the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Darine Atwa holds a Master of Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva and a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Designing Strategies and Projects in Humanitarian Action. As for her undergraduate studies, she graduated from Carleton University in Canada with a bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management, with a specialization in International Studies.
