Rory Arnott

Weapons and Ammunition Management Specialist

Rory Arnott is a Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM) Specialist at the Small Arms Survey (SAS). Rory works primarily on the EU-LAS project, developing and delivering SALW stockpile management and security training to students from member states of the LAS.

Prior to joining the Survey, Rory worked for 20 years in the Irish Defence Forces, retiring at the rank of Commandant (Major). Rory was an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operator for six years, served for two years on overseas peacekeeping appointments in the Levant, and held a variety of management, instructor and WAM appointments throughout his career.

Rory holds qualifications in mechanical and explosives engineering, as well as project management and procurement. Rory has extensive experience in technical and practical training delivery, which when blended with his practical and operational experience ensures the delivery of relevant and sustainable courses in the safe and secure management of small arms and light weapons.
